Iron turn down latest Paterson offer

Having refused our initial bid of £400,000 the Clarets upped it to £450,000 with further payments to follow. There would have been another £50,000 after thirty appearances and a further £50,000 when the number of appearances reached sixty.

So, assuming Paterson was a first team regular the fee would have increased to £550,000 some time during the 2009/10 season. There was also one further payment to come should the Clarets win promotion to the Premier League.

Two offers refused now and Scunthorpe say it remains to be seen whether Burnley come back with an increased offer. Remember they had a bid from Norwich in January believed to be closer to £800,000 and today they have again repeated that the player is not for sale.
