The player in question is First Division Galway United’s Alan Murphy who has just ended the 2003 season as the division’s leading scorer.

The 22 year old striker has been in amazing form as his side ended the season in mid table. In 30 league appearances he scored 21 goals whilst adding another 6 in 5 cup appearances.

The new season in Ireland does not start until 21st March so it gives us some time to take a look at him without him missing any games. If Murphy can take the step up from Irish football, and he has played in their Premier League previously, then he could be a more than useful addition to the squad.
