Irish celebrating again

Kyle Lafferty had to settle for a seat on the bench tonight alongside Steve Jones, leaving Michael Duff as the only Claret starting the game, and Duff was in excellent form as they came back from behind to beat Sweden 2-1 with two goals from, yes you've guessed it, David Healy.

The win has taken them top of their group. They've now beaten both Spain and Sweden, the two group favourites, at Windsor Park and will still be wondering how on earth they managed to lose that first group game against Iceland. Kyle did get into the action with some eleven minutes to go, coming on for Warren Feeney who last week moved from Luton to Cardiff on loan.

Over in Cardiff I think it is fair to say that Danny Coyne had one of his easiest nights in goal for his country. They beat minnows San Marino 3-0 and in doing so had 32 shots at goal with 19 of them on target. All San Marino could muster was one solitary effort on target in a game that was totally dominated by the Welsh side from start to finish.

Danny even had the rarity of seeing the team he was playing for win a penalty, he'll be able to tell all his team mates about it when he gets back to Burnley tomorrow. Jason Koumas converted it to complete the scoring.
