Ipswich want Diallo

It was against Ipswich that Driss made his Burnley debut back in December after joining the club on a month's contract. He impressed in virtually every game during that month and it was no surprise when the Clarets extended the deal until the end of the season.

Stan said that he wanted Diallo to stay beyond that period and was confident that he would get his man. He missed a number of games at the end of the season with a hamstring injury but relief was heard amongst Clarets' fans with the news that there was another offer on the table.

There were indications that the player was less than thrilled with that offer and he is believed to have returned to Paris to consider his options.

Now one of those options looks likely to have come from one of Stan's pals, Joe Royle at Ipswich.

Having missed out on the play offs the Suffolk club will once again be in the First Division next season and will be continuing to cut costs. Signing Diallo could be just the sort of deal they will want to strenghen their squad.

There has been no news from Burnley on this but with the players and staff currently on their end of season trip to Portugal any comment would be unlikely.

No doubt there will be some very disappointed Burnley fans if Driss Diallo does join the Tractor Boys.
