Ipswich off again

Apparently these days if you don’t get too many bookings but lose most weeks it can lead to a place in the UEFA Cup and this is what is now causing chaos to our fixtures.

We should have played Ipswich Town at Portman Road during the first midweek of the season but that couldn’t go ahead because they were too busy playing FC Avenir Beggen in the away leg of their UEFA Cup qualifying tie.

A 1-0 win followed by an 8-1 second leg victory means they now play FC Sartid Smederevo (another top name in European football) although this does not clash with the Burnley match. However it does clash with the 2nd Round of the Worthington Cup and so their match in this competition has been brought forward to, yes you have guessed it, Tuesday 24th October the day Burnley were scheduled to visit.

It is now over 27 years since we played at Portman Road and we will now have to wait a little longer before they rip us off at £23 a ticket. There is no new date as yet.
