Injuries galore

Luke Chadwick - ruled out say club
But that’s the problem at Burnley right now. Mark McGregor has been out all season with a knee injury although there are suggestions he could play in the reserve team on Monday. Alan Moore has had an operation on his knee and David May has been out for over a month now with a hamstring injury.

Add to that both Paul Weller and Luke Chadwick were forced off the pitch last Saturday with injuries and both have been ruled out for weeks rather than days. There have been suggestions that Chadwick could play against Cardiff but the official line from the club is that he will be out for another two to three weeks.

With Arthur recalled from QPR and now Glen back from Bolton, allied to the fact that we still have the two Bolton players, Delroy Facey and Gareth Farrelly, we can actually find ourselves four substitutes although one of them Joel Pilkington has never appeared in the first team and Matt O’Neill hasn’t been used since the opening day defeat against Palace.

Unless Chadwick has been to Lourdes or Stan has been at it with the Holy Water again then we are expected to remain unchanged from the side that went out of the Carling Cup against Wolves and that line up is:

Brian Jensen, Dean West, Graham Branch, Arthur Gnohere, Mo Camara, Glen Little, Richard Chaplow, Town Grant, Ian Moore, Robbie Blake, Delroy Facey. Subs: Lee Roche, Gareth Farrelly, Joel Pilkington, Matt O’Neill.

Cardiff also have a number of players missing although they do have considerably more players to choose from than we do.

Recent signing from Queens Park Rangers Richard Langley drops out suspended but two other players Andy Campbell and Willie Boland return after serving suspensions.

Strikers Peter Thorne, and he has definitely been one in our side, and former Claret Alan Lee are both out injured as are defender Rhys Weston and midfielder Jason Bowen.

But despite all the absences Cardiff will be able to fill their subs bench and with Boland expected to replace Langley the expected team is:

Neil Alexander, Gary Croft, Tony Vidmar, Danny Gabbidon, Chris Barker, Willie Boland, Graham Kavanagh, Mark Bonner, John Robinson, Robert Earnshaw, Gavin Gordon. Subs from: Spencer Prior, Martyn Margetson, Andy Campbell, Julian Gray, Stuart Fleetwood, James Collins.
