Ings, who was forced off with an ankle injury in last night's 3-3 draw at Birmingham has been joined by Leicester's midfielder Danny Drinkwater and the only player with more goals than Ings in the Championship this season and that is Ross McCormack of Leeds.
This is the top player award at the ceremony, which will be available to watch online via the Football League's YouTube channel.
The competition is tough. Drinkwater is reported to be a real driving force in midfield for leaders Leicester and McCormack has, like Ings, been knocking in the goals all season.
Hopefully, in three days time it will be Danny who takes the title from last year's winner, Watford's Matej Vydra.
