He was up against Leicester's Danny Drinkwater and Ross McCormack who scored against us yesterday. The award is decided by the managers in the Championship and it was Danny who came out on top.
In accepting the award he suggested that his injury might not be too bad but confirmed he was seeing a specialist this week.
He won the Player of the Month award for February but this award eclipses that and he becomes the first Burnley player to win this award and follows such as Adel Taarabt, Rickie Lambert and Matej Vydra who have won it in the past three seasons.
Well done Danny - it is fully deserved.
