Imposter off the list

Formerly with Preston North End we can now confirm that Tony Scholes is involving himself
with Barnsley Football Club, one of the clubs recently back from the brink and was introduced to supporters last night at a supporters’ club forum.

Scholes left Deepdale after he decided that he could not work with current chairman Derek Shaw, this after a successful period on the board alongside Bryan Gray.

Having been working closely with our former Chief Exec Andrew Watson recently it was thought that he could be favourite for the job. That seems to be no longer the case.

I can also confirm that there has been no approach made either to the real Tony Scholes whilst Terry Robinson after initial interest now looks unlikely to leave Bramall Lane.

There appears to be little doubt now that the club will not be appointing anyone to replace Watson with Barry Kilby set to combine the Chief Exec/Chairman role as has happened at many other clubs.
