Ian Britton to make draw

Ian Britton
Britton had enjoyed an excellent career before joining Burnley at the beginning of the 1986/87 but it was at the end of that first season at Turf Moor when he scored what proved to be the most important goal in his career and in the history of Burnley Football Club.

Leading 1-0 in 'The Orient Game', Britton, the smallest player on the pitch, got up to head home a second and match winning goal that saved Burnley's Football League status.

He's since, and rightly so, become a hero amongst Burnley fans and admitted recently that if he chose he would rarely have to buy a drink with the supporters always keen to repay him.

Later today he will receive a superb reception from those Burnley supporters, a player who will always be remembered at Turf Moor for that goal on 9th May 1987.
