I Support Burnley now let's get behind the lads

As we all know Burnley Football Club are not as sound financially as they were when last season ended and because of this we have no new signings at the club at the start of a season for the first time in 21 years. That season Brian Miller’s team won the Championship, albeit after a bad start, and there wasn’t much optimism around August time then.

This week we launched I Support Burnley with the hope of generated a positive atmosphere at the Turf. Yes, we would like to eradicate the booing and certainly the racial abuse that sometimes rears its ugly head. But just take a look at the fifth pledge. We said that it is more important to get behind them when two down than when two up.

We are not two down but the club needs a lift, it needs to know that every singe supporter is behind them. We haven’t got Marlon Beresford, Marlon Broomes, David Johnson or Kevin Ball but we still have players wearing the Claret and Blue shirt we are so fiercely proud of.

We need to trust those players and we need to get behind them. This is not about sticking an extra few quid into the Turf Moor coffers, although I am sure the powers that be down Harry Potts Way would not turn their noses up at it, but getting behind the club in the best and easiest way possible by giving the players as much support as we can.

The response to I Support Burnley this week has been magnificent but now we turn our attentions to supporting them in the best way possible. If you are going this afternoon then give it your best, support the lads and encourage them. Make it as easy for them as you can and as difficult for Brighton as possible.

We are ready to start again so

COME ON YOU CLARETS
