I Support Burnley Day

Last updated : 24 April 2003 By Tony Scholes

The whole idea of the campaign was to get Burnley supporters behind the team and we asked you to agree to five pledges against abuse, violence and racism. We have been staggered with the response and the number having signed up is fast approaching 700. Click HERE to find out more on I Support Burnley and to sign up.

It was a Clarets Mad initiative and the list of those having signed up is on this site but we have had fantastic support from elsewhere. Two of our supporters groups, the London Clarets and the Clarets Independent Supporters Association have fully supported it as have the Burnley Express, our local paper.

It has also been fully supported by Burnley Football Club and it is conjunction with the club that the day goes ahead for the Sheffield Wednesday game.

The club and ourselves are asking you to wear you colours on Saturday, show off proudly who you support and to honour all the pledges that allow you to say, "I SUPPORT BURNLEY". It doesn't matter whether your shirt is new or old, last season we had a fine collection of old Burnley shirts on view for the Coventry game.

The campaign will not be ending, far from it, and you can still sign up if you agree to the pledges and you can also buy the I Support Burnley badge which is being sold by the club shops. You can either visit the shops or click HERE to buy from the online shop.

Get behind the lads on Saturday for the last home game of the season but don’t forget the pledges and say,

I SUPPORT BURNLEY
