The Clarets’ midfielder was in the starting eleven but things didn’t go too well for the Jamaicans and they fell behind after just four minutes when Panama’s Roberto Brown scored from a free kick.

Jamaica were the better side and former Preston striker Ricardo Fuller missed three golden opportunities to bring the scores level during the first half as the home side dominated play.

Things went worse just past the half hour when Ian Goodison was sent off after for a second yellow card but the home side remained on top.

It was the same story after the break, even with ten men Jamaica were on top, and they looked to have rescued a point when Damani Ralph forced an equaliser in the last ten minutes.

However, a stoppage time goal from Delv Valdez gave Panama the victory although Bolton’s Ricardo Gardner hammered a free kick against the woodwork right on time.

They now travel to El Salvador on Wednesday and this has now become a must win game for the Reggae Boyz.
