Ninth cap for Cameron Howieson

Howieson won his ninth cap for New Zealand three days ago, coming on as an 81st minute substitute for Bill Tuiloma in what was a 3-1 defeat against Uzbekistan in Tashkent.

It was the beginning of a new era for New Zealand football with this the first game under new coach Anthony Hudson. Despite the defeat he was very positive and said: "Tonight has given me a good idea of individual players and we're where we are as a group right now. I feel I'm in a really good position now to identify what we need in all departments."

And former Claret David Edgar won his 24th cap for Canada, his first since leaving the Clarets in the summer. Not only that, he scored his second international goal in a 3-1 win against Jamaica, scoring Canada's equaliser.

Adam Svoboda of the Caribbean Football Database said of the goal: "David Edgar equalises almost immediately for Canada, showing great technique to volley in direct from a free kick about 30 yards out."

The Internationals feature has been updated.

I'm indebted to Mikael Jönsson from Norway yet again for ensuring the Internationals feature is fully correct.
