Howard's Way for Clarets

Last updated : 21 August 2008 By Tony Scholes
Howard was the subject of speculation regarding a move to Burnley during Steve Cotterill's first season as manager in 2004/05. At the time he was banging in goals for Luton during their promotion from League One.

Nothing came of it and Howard and Luton arrived in the Championship where the striker's goals continued and that led to a big money move when he signed for Little Billy at Derby. He plundered eighteen league goals for the Rams as they won promotion to the Premier League.

He scored Derby's first away goal in the Premier League against Manchester United at Old Trafford but it was his only goal for Derby last season and he moved to Leicester in January but he couldn't find the goals to prevent them going down to League One.

He's still at Leicester where he's played in three very attractive games this season against Stockport (twice) and Franchise. Now the 32-year-old is being linked with a move to Turf Moor.
