Hotting up in the transfer market

The revolving door at the Turf Moor players' entrance might just need a quick glug of lubricant.

Leicester City are preparing a final "take it or leave it" offer of £15 million pounds for Clarets' central defender Michael Keane.

Burnley have already declined the Foxes initial two bids. It is understood however that Keane is willing to have talks with the Premier League Champions.

Burnley have placed a valuation on the player of £20 million pounds. Leicester have made their final offer based on what they believe the player is worth. Ranieri and Dyche might end up in loggerheads on this one!

Charlton Athletic have knocked back a second offer on young shot stopper Nick Pope. A revised fee, believed to be close to £1,000,000 is still not deemed enough by new Addicks' gaffer Russell Slade.

Derby County remain unimpressed by a second Burnley offer for Eurostar sensation Jeff Hendrick. According to Rams' boss Nigel Pearson, the Clarets are miles away from meeting the iPro outfit's valuation of the Republic of Ireland player.

The Lancastrians, promoted back to the Premier League last season are keen to replace Joey Barton who has departed Turf Moor for Glasgow Rangers.

Brighton and Hove Albion have already declined two offers  for Bolton born midfielder Dale Stephens. The Clarets were willing to pay £4 million for Stephens and it seems likely a third improved bid might just land their man.

One offer that has been accepted is an initial £2.5 million for Charlton Athletic's  Icelander Johann Berg Gudmundsson. Add-ons could total a final fee of £3.5 million for another player who set the 2016 Euro finals alight.

It is expected that the deal will be concluded and signed on Monday when the Clarets' have returned from their summer camp in Evian.

Ultimately, the transfer speculation will boil down to an individual player's willingness and desire to switch alliances. Rhetorical questions abound. Will Keane want the opportunity to play Champion League football with Ranieri's Foxes?

Will Jeff Hendrick want to link up with his international colleague Stephen Ward? How badly does Dale Stephens want to return to the North West? Will young Nick Pope be happy in an understudy role between the Clarets' sticks?

On the non-playing front. Sunderland are seemingly expressing an interest again in Sean Dyche in the event of Big Sam Allardyce vacating the Stadium of Light for the England job.

It looks like Sean Dyche and Burnley Football Club are in for a couple of very interesting days? (TEC)
