Hoskin moves to the Dark side

The Dark Lane side interviewed the former winger last week and today Hoskin said yes for his first role in management.

He is still very much part of Burnley Football Club and works within the Community Programme as coach in the Hyndburn and Ribble Valley areas and recently passed his UEFA B Coaching badge.

He made his first team debut at Burnley as a teenager but was soon out of the side with a broken leg sustained early in a league win against Orient and two years later came close to appearing at Wembley when he was an unused substitute in the Sherpa Van Trophy Final.

During the 1986/87 season he scored a wonder goal at Swansea that made our 100 Great Moments as we fought against relegation out of the Football League.

After Burnley he moved into non-league football and managed to attract a sponsorship deal for Accrington Stanley from Phil Collins when someone suggested he looked like him – it had to be the hair.

Now he looks forward to his first management role within the non-league pyramid and we send him our best wishes.
