The role has come about because of extra funding from the Football League and a skills coach is now a pre-requisite at all clubs with Head of Player Development at the League Graham Hawkins saying: "The employment of a full time Skills Coach will make a real difference.

"We saw at the Olympics the success that can be achieved through increasing the levels of funding to the most talented athletes. Hopefully we will see similarly talented individuals emerge through these Youth Development Programmes who will go on to enjoy success of their own."

Ash's role will be to plan and implement a programme of skills coaching throughout the club's Centre of Excellence with particular emphasis on the 8-11 ages.

Hoskin, a UEFA 'A' licence coahc has been involved with youth development at the club for some time and it is good to see another committed Claret taking on this role.
