Home fans behind both goals

The current cricket field stand houses the away fans

If all goes to plan, work will start on the new cricket field stand following the completion of this season, and on the day the new plans were revealed it was said that the new stand would be occupied by away supporters.

It looked to be set in stone, but that's not the case, and when questioned last night the club's operational director Brendan Flood said he very much hoped the home fans would have use of the new stand.

There was a smile from manager Steve Cotterill as he said it, and the manager was even happier when Flood said that he would prefer the away fans to be in a less favourable position in the ground.

Where will the away fans go? There's no definite answer to that but it looks most unlikely that they will be able to occupy any part of the Longside, and right now it is thought that they could be allocated seats in the Bob Lord Stand.

But the big news for Clarets is that within the next two years we could finally once more have home supporters behind both goals.
