Holloway's gone now

Ian Holloway has parted company with Leicester tonight to continue what really is the most incredible of stories. Since Mandaric took over ownership of Leicester in February 2007 they have played under no fewer than seven different managers. It is hardly a surprise to see that they've struggled to such an extent that they've just ended their worst ever season.

Rob Kelly was in charge when Mandaric arrived in a blaze of publicity and promise but he wasn't to last long, replaced by Nigel Worthington who hardly got his feet under the table before he was on his way at the end of last season.

Two gone but by now it was a new season and it started with Martin Allen in charge, but he was quickly shown the door and had gone by the time August was out with John Rudkin taking temporary charge. Then it was Gary Megson. He did well, he managed to get himself out of there very quickly and that left Frank Burrows as caretaker.

Then, on the day Burnley were appointing Owen Coyle, Leicester gave the job to Plymouth boss Ian Holloway yet after six months the axe has fallen on him tonight leaving Mandaric looking for manager number eight.

It could be a good job. Leicester will be one of the biggest clubs in League One next season, if not the biggest, and if a manager is allowed to manage then he could be setting himself up for some success. But how long will he last? For advice see Harry Redknapp, he's the only one to survive under Mandaric and even he got out for a year's break.
