Hoddle in at Molineux

It does appear that Wolves were very much interested in having a big name and it did seem a contest between Sir Bobby Robson and Harry Redknapp once the latter had left Portsmouth.

But today’s news is that the former Swindon, Chelsea, England, Southampton and Spurs boss Hoddle will take over. That will be news viewed with some interest in the dressing room with Hoddle having a reputation for poor man management skills.

He was a great player, had success in his first management role with Swindon before walking out, but since then there has been little to enthuse about amidst claims that he has commanded very little in respect from the players.

Southampton
are currently struggling in the Premiership but their fans will be delighted and relieved at this morning’s news – they have feared he was going to return to them.

He finds Wolves on the up after Gray’s month in charge and they are currently 17th after winning three and drawing one of their last five games.

With John Gorman now at Wycombe there is no truth in the rumour that Eileen Drewery will join him as his assistant.
