Hindle collects horror injury

Hindle was in a collision with the Walsall keeper when he went in for a loose ball and after first appearing that it was the goalkeeper in trouble it was in fact the young Burnley forward who was led from the field.

There were suggestions after the game that the injury could be serious and in fact Damo was rushed to hospital where he had a long operation to repair a jaw broken in four places.

The good news is that the operation has been successful and he could be home by the weekend although his chances of winning a place on the bench for the first team this season will now be gone.

He is added to an injury list that is as long as any I can ever remember with a number of the youth players out as well as all the first team squad players. Hopefully Damien will, like the rest of them, be fully fit and well for next season.
