Steve Hewitt joins the squad for trip to Bath

Last year Eddie Howe sprung something of a surprise when he took youth team player Steven Hewitt with them rather than Alex-Ray Harvey, and a year on Hewitt is again included, the only member of the development squad to make the trip.

With midfielders light on the ground right now, with the injury to Marvin Bartley making things worse, it hasn't come as any surprise to see Hewitt again called up, particularly with him having been involved in both of the first team games so far as well as all three of the development squad games including yesterday's win at Alfreton in front of the watchful eye of manager Eddie Howe.

Bartley won't feature but is still going with the squad which, as yet, hasn't been added to since the capture of Joseph Mills on loan from Reading twelve days ago.

A total of 24 players will be away for the week whilst the development and youth squad players left behind can look forward to two games at Padiham and Droylsden which, like the first team games, will be played on Tuesday evening and Saturday respectively.

The travelling squad is: Lee Grant, Brian Jensen, Jon Stewart, Kieran Trippier, Luke O'Neill, Danny Lafferty, Joseph Mills, Michael Duff, David Edgar, Kevin Long, Jason Shackell, Ben Mee, Dean Marney, Chris McCann, Steven Hewitt, Marvin Bartley, Junior Stanislas, Ross Wallace, Keith Treacy, George Porter, Alex MacDonald, Charlie Austin, Martin Paterson, Danny Ings.
