He's been a good Friend this season

If he's been a good friend then we didn't get that impression at Watford where we won despite him and his refusal to give us a penalty for a foul on Robbie Blake by Jay DeMerit must rank as one of the worst decisions of the season.

Still we won, and so we did at Loftus Road as we came back from 2-0 down to win the game against QPR 4-2. On that occasion he had a decent enough game, probably the first time in his four Burnley games.

He's getting close to a century of yellow cards this season and has now reached 97 from 39 games. Of those 38 have gone to home team players and 59 to away team players. He can also add nine red cards to that total, there's been just once since that night at QPR when he sent off Tranmere's Steven Jennings in their 1-1 draw at Bristol Rovers.

Friend has not done us any favours in some of our games, but a fourth successive away win with him in the middle will be enough provided he keeps his cards in his pocket. His current Clarets Mad 'Rate the Ref' rating is 63.69.

His assistants will be Gary Evetts (Hertfordshire) and Roger Vaughan (North Somerset) whilst the fourth official will be card happy Football League referee Trevor Kettle (Berkshire). He's handed out over 150 cards this season and secured the third worst rating in our 'Rate the Ref' feature of 31.51 for his handling of the home game against Palace.
