It wasn't a close call either with Heaton beating left back Ben Mee, who was second in both the vote and the ratings, by some margin.
Heaton won 67.3% of the man of the match vote which is the third highest return this season, beaten only by the 74.1% he himself won in the 3-0 defeat at Arsenal and the massive 82.1% share of the vote claimed by Ashley Barnes when we drew 2-2 at Man City at the end of December.
With that sort of share of the vote, there was only Mee who got even close to double figures, let alone achieving it. He had 11.8% of the vote but joint third place was taken by Michael Keane and Kieran Trippier who secured just 3.9% of the vote each.
It was goalkeeper and defenders at the top of the player ratings too. Heaton headed it with a rating of 7.84 out of 10, followed by Mee whose rating was 6.63. Third place went to Trippier with 6.42 and fourth place was won by Jason Shackell with a rating of 6.37 out of 10.
Heaton won the maximum ten points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year. Mee gained six points and there were four points for Trippier, two points for Keane and one point for Shackell.
Ings still leads the way for the player of the year; he's now 18 points ahead of Shackell with Ashley Barnes a further four points behind.
The Man City vote will get underway on Saturday evening, within an hour of the final whistle, as the Clarets get back into action after a blank weekend last week because of the FA Cup.
