Hearts say no to latest Driver bid

And for the first time the comments from Turf Moor are hardly positive with assistant manager Sandy Stewart admitting the current situation is far from ideal with the Clarets again being turned down for a player.

We know the first offer was £500,000 and this has been increased by the Clarets but it was still not good enough for the SPL club who have turned it down and Stewart said: "We made an increased offer for Andrew this week but that has been rejected by Hearts.

Stewart, who would not say whether the Clarets will continue to pursue this particular target, added: "We'll have to wait and see. We've got other targets who may become available in the meantime.

"We haven't set a time limit. The ones we've bid for we would have liked to have had them tied up so then we only needed one or two more, but unfortunately that's not happened. It is never easy in football, especially when you're talking about a top player. Not only will his club want to keep him, but there will be other clubs interested."

There's no news on any of our other targets but sources close to Turf Moor continue to suggest that the signing of Diego Penny is close.
