Hearts must contact us

The Clarets had a £500,000 offer turned down for the 20-year-old Oldham born winger and assistant manager Sandy Stewart confirmed a week ago that a second bid had also been rebuffed by the SPL club.

This week there were suggestions that Driver was keen to join the Clarets and it was widely expected that Owen Coyle would make a third bid for the player. However, that's not the case and we will not be actively pursuing this player.

Coyle said: "We made two inquiries for Andrew and we're not preparing a third bid. The way it was left was, if anything was going to happen, Hearts had to come back to us. I felt we made a fair offer for the player."

So the ball is in their court, in a similar situation to the one we had with Sheffield Wednesday last January with Glenn Whelan. On that occasion Wednesday didn't come back and the player moved elsewhere. Whether that happens with Driver now remains to be seen.
