Hatters pay tribute to Wes

Wes Fletcher
His loan has twice been extended and he's gone on to play twelve games for them of which all but one were starts, scoring just the once in their 1-0 away win at Bury in November.

He's now returned to Turf moor having reached the maximum number of days permitted for an emergency loan, and although not unprecedented, the public acknowledgement from Stockport County is not something you read about returning loan players very often in English football.

Today, on their official web site, Stockport County said of Wes: "Stockport County would like to place on record their thanks to young striker Wes Fletcher who has returned to parent club Burnley after a three month stay at Edgeley Park.

"Fletcher was a firm favourite amongst the Hatters faithful, making several goals whilst with the club and also scoring the winner in our 'derby' day victory at Gigg Lane.

"New Clarets boss Eddie Howe has recalled his 'loan' players to allow him to assess his playing staff, but County have made it known that should the young forward be available again he would be more than welcome back in SK3."
Wes scored on his return to Burnley in yesterday's behind closed doors friendly against Preston North End.
