Hart is first to go

He leaves Pompey with them rooted to the bottom of the league with just two wins this season, a 1-0 win at Wolves and more recently a 4-0 home success against Wigan.

It has been a difficult period for Hart after replacing replaced Tony Adams. He has had to contend with player sales, a lack of funds, no end of takeovers and new owners and a chief executive who is now facing charges relating to a transfer.

Who takes over? Currently Ian Woan and Paul Groves have been placed in temporary charge whilst Avram Grant continues in his role as Director of Football. Initially it was said Grant wouldn't take charge but this morning that seems to have changed and he seems to be the favourite.

Right behind him in the betting is Darren Ferguson and if he were to be appointed it would certainly add some fuel to the debate between him and Peterborough brought about by Barry Fry's comments regarding him going to a Premier League job at the time he left London Road.

If you want a wild bet you can get 33/1 on Harry Redknapp or 100/1 on Tony Adams but at very short odds is the likelihood that the new man will be in place by the time Burnley arrive at Fratton Park a week on Saturday.
