Harley on his way out of Turf Moor

Harley was one of a number of players who was out of contract this summer and although all but two of them were offered new deals the manager admitted that leaving it so late could cost us the services of these players.

The retained list was announced on Tuesday and although no details were publicised in the case of Harley he was offered a deal after discussions with Owen Coyle. Three days later he went back for further discussions and the result was him packing his bags and on his way out of Turf Moor and Harley will now be on his way to another club.

Coyle said after the meeting: "We offered Jon a new deal but unfortunately we cannot agree terms. Subsequently he will be moving on and we wish him well in his career elsewhere."

Harley has been a regular under Coyle's management and when left out for the home game against Cardiff two weeks ago it was the first game he'd missed under the new manager when he's been available.
