Harley is now a full time Claret

For some strange reason the cut off time for permanent signings is some five hours earlier than for loan signings and, as it was after the noon cut off time, the loan deal was done to ensure he would be available for both games.

The three year deal had already been agreed and Harley has signed that today and he now becomes a Burnley player after we paid Sheffield United an initial fee of £75,000. The total fee could go up, in fact it could reach £150,000 but that depends on a set number of appearances.

Harley did make his debut against Derby and had a good game, winning the Clarets Mad Man of the Match poll, before lining up against Reading and former Claret Glen Little yesterday when he turned in another good performance.

Steve Cotterill said during July that left back was a target following the departure of Mo Camara and said today, “I’m sure Jon will go on to be a very good footballer for Burnley Football Club. He is young and we are delighted to have him on board.

“He has already played two very good games for us and has slotted straight into the defence and will be a great addition to the side.”
