Harley – it is good news

Harley joined the Clarets in August of last year and I cannot recall him ever being substituted during a game previously because of injury and he's certainly not missed a game through injury. The only game Harley has missed since signing for Burnley was the one against his old club Sheffield United last December and that was because of a one match suspension.

After the game, manager Steve Cotterill was concerned and suspected that the player could well have broken his foot, and that they could now only wait for the xray results, but there was news earlier in the week of the player training and this morning the club have confirmed that there is no break and that the player is indeed doing some training.

Will he be fit for the game against Birmingham on Saturday? Steve Cotterill has said this morning: “The foot is not broken which is a massive boost. Jon was in a fair bit of pain over the weekend but it has got better as the week has gone on. How much better is only a matter of time but I wouldn't bet against him being out there at weekend.

That's good news for the Clarets with no natural replacement at left back. Chris McCann finished the game there last week, and he would probably be the most likely candidate, although Graham Branch could also fill in.
