Guidetti loan extension hopes

John Guidetti
Guidetti joined the Clarets earlier this month and, after making substitute appearances against Derby and Leeds, has started the two Christmas games against Barnsley and Scunthorpe.

Under the terms of the current agreement he will be available for the next two games against Sheffield United and Reading but after those games his loan comes to an end.

Laws confirmed that we are negotiating with Manchester City to try and extend the Swedish striker's time at Turf Moor. He said: "We've been pleased with John and we've been delighted with his contribution.

"Although he's only 18, he's a mature teenager and since he's been in he's enjoyed being with us and we'd like to try and make that a bit longer, but that's an ongoing communication between ourselves and Manchester City."
