Guerrero to sign loan deal today

Burnley were expected to line up a permanent deal for the Independiente José Terán player and it was thought the fee could be as high as £2 million. But now it looks as though the club have taken the decision to bring the player in on a loan deal with a view to a permanent signing next summer should things go well.

Although everything should be tied up today it will probably come too late for him to play at Kilmarnock. All the paper work will have to be registered and with our FA requiring international clearance from the Ecuador FA it will probably be Saturday at St. Johnstone before he's able to play.

Once completed Guerrero will become Owen Coyle's sixth summer signing following the captures of Tyrone Mears, David Edgar, Steven Fletcher, Brian Easton and Richard Eckersley.
