Officially playing as a trialist, just about every Burnley fan knew who he was and he was very much the topic of conversation yesterday after his showing in the game where he created one goal, won a penalty and scored a fourth.

It is believed the club are now doing all they can to seal the transfer and are in talks with Guerrero's club Club Social y Deportivo Independiente José Terán who are said to want £2 million for the young 19-year-old winger who made his full international debut for Ecuador in 2007.

With five signings already completed this summer in Tyrone Mears, Steven Fletcher, David Edgar, Brian Easton and Richard Eckersley it would now be no surprise to see Fernando Alexander Guerrero Vásquez become signing number six.
