Guerrero could leave Turf Moor

The speculation has come from our old friend Alan Nixon, he whose lack of knowledge of the Old Testament recently made his best mate at Horwich look pretty foolish.

Guerrero came to Burnley in the summer on a year's loan with a view to a permanent signing. On the eve of our first Premier League season, our manager said that he would be the most fouled player in the Premier League during the 2009/10 season. Prior to his departure, he'd given the young Ecuadorian just over 70 minutes of football in the Premier League.

He's not featured at all since the 1-1 draw with Fulham in December and more recently hasn't been included on the bench.

The Oracle of all things Coyle reckons Guerrero will look for a Championship side for the rest of the season. Now, I don't profess to be an expert on the matter of transfers so I'm not so sure whether it would be possible or not. Cross border transfers are not considered loans and therefore it may just be possible for us to loan him out to a Football League club.

Nixon also suggests that Bolton's twelve goal legend still has an eye on Guerrero as a cut-price signing if he can prove himself at first team level. That's some change of view on a player he had previously heralded as a star in the making. When completing the signing of the player last August he said: "The quality is there for everybody to see. I've no doubt he will be a big player for us."

Meanwhile at Turf Moor, manager Brian Laws must be considering what, if anything, should be done following Joey Gudjonsson's outburst in an Icelandic newspaper. Joey missed the Portugal trip with his wife soon to give birth, and sources close to the manager and the player suggest there has been no fall out whatsoever between them although currently Joey doesn't look like winning a place in the side.
