Gray wins Colchester points

Gray scored our second goal with a superb volley following a Wade Elliott cross from the right and then converted the second half penalty confidently to restore our two goal advantage. It wasn't just his goals, this was an excellent performance of centre forward play from Gray, for me as good a performance as we've seen from him since he signed from Sunderland.

He won the Man of the Match vote on the site by some distance, polling sixty percent of the vote, and that left him well clear of Alan Mahon who polled just under twelve percent to take second place. Chris McCann, impressive in his central midfield role, came third to take a point.

All three featured in the points following the player ratings thread on the message board. Again Gray collected three points, averaging 8.63 out of 10. That was a full point more than anyone else.

Chris McCann (7.63) took second place whilst Steven Caldwell, Stephen Jordan and Alan Mahon with 7.50 were in joint third position. In total the points awarded this week were Andy Gray (6), Alan Mahon & Chris McCann (3), Steven Caldwell & Stephen Jordan (1).

Brian Jensen remains in the lead, but only by one point from Gray. The current table is as follows:

12: Brian Jensen
11: Andy Grayv9: Kyle Lafferty
6: Clarke Carlisle & David Unsworth
5: Robbie Blake & Alan Mahon
3: Michael Duff & Chris McCann
2: Wayne Thomas
1: Steven Caldwell & Stephen Jordan
