Grant gets Chester deal

It's been a difficult time for the 32-year-old midfielder who has played in just twenty league games, and had two cancelled contracts as well as having been unemployable for a time since leaving the Clarets two years ago. He was released by Steve Cotterill at the end of the 2004/05 season after failing to agree terms on a new deal at Turf Moor.

He's played for Bristol City on a short term deal but then found himself unemployable because of FIFA's transfer windows. He eventually moved to Crewe in January 2006, and then Accrington a year later when his Crewe contract was cancelled. Things didn't work out at the Fraser Eagle either and after just games they parted company.

Pre-season this summer has been spent with Chester and after impressing manager Bobby Williamson he was offered, and has signed a one year deal with the League Two club.
