Graham Di-Branchio

Graham Branch
It's almost a year since Branchy played his last game for the Clarets when he came on as a substitute for Steven Caldwell just after half time at Preston. He came within inches of equalising for us that afternoon with a shot that rebounded back off the bar.

It brought to an end a Burnley career that had started at the beginning of 1999 with a home game against Walsall in the first of Stan Ternent's six seasons as manager. He made his debut that afternoon as did Steve Davis who had just re-signed from Luton.

He was played on the left wing, in midfield, up front, at full back, and then in that amazing escape against relegation in 2004 he played a lot of games in the centre of defence before moving further forward and scoring two crucial goals that enabled us to retain Championship status.

Once a target for the Turf Moor boo boys he turned that round one way or the other and became something of a cult figure with the Burnley fans and that brought with it the Graham Di-Branchio chant, one I'm sure we'll hear at half time tonight.
