Gow says no to Clarets

The Scottish press are reporting that the player will give Burnley a 'No' answer after deciding he wants to stay with Rangers for the remaining two years of his contract to try and fight his way into the team.

It looks an incredible decision to me if this is the case and it means Gow prefers to play reserve team football. He has been there for a year and hasn't even got on the pitch in the SPL, his manager Walter Smith is strengthening his squad and has already told him he's not wanted by agreeing to him being part of the Lafferty deal.

However, his agent Phil McTaggart has said: "Alan will be back at Rangers next season and will report for pre-season next Wednesday to try and force his way into Walter Smith's plans. There has been a great deal of talk about Alan leaving but he's opted to remain where he is and prove himself after a disappointing first season at the club."

McTaggart went on to say: "He has two years left on his contract and has the belief he can still be a success as a Rangers player."

So it looks as though Owen Coyle's search for his first Burnley signing goes on as he prepares for his first full season in charge of the Clarets.
