Gow interest is over

Last night we set him a seven day deadline to agree a deal but this morning's comments from his agent Phil McTaggart virtually confirmed he'd made up his mind and would not become Owen Coyle's first Burnley signing.

The club have given the impression that there has been no official contact between the two parties but that following he comments from the Gow camp have decided to end it and confirm that our interest is now over.

This means the club will receive a further payment for Kyle Lafferty although this is to be an undisclosed amount, but the manager did say earlier in the week that the full package was worth close to £4 million and that means the Gow money must be close to £750,000.

Coyle said: "We have ended our interest in Alan and we will now concentrate on our other targets. This remains a fantastic deal for Burnley Football Club and we wish Kyle all the best in his future career.
