Meanwhile up in Glasgow there was a brief statement from Rangers to confirm that everything had been agreed with Lafferty who looked somewhat nervous as he was sped away in a car as the photographers clambered for a picture.
That's pretty much it for now but words from Gow's agent Phil McTaggart this evening have suggested that he could be close to saying yes to Burnley. McTaggart said: "We are still in talks at the moment and nothing has been agreed yet. Hopefully something will be sorted sooner rather than later for everyone involved."
McTaggart went on to say: "If everything goes right, then Burnley is a great opportunity and Alan knows that. They are a good club, with a great manager who knows Alan inside out and it could be ideal. "But," he concluded, "The personal terms have to be right."
