Gow - one week to decide

With the players due back for pre-season training in under two weeks, and with still no additions to the squad, Burnley have told Alan Gow today that he'll be given until midnight next Thursday 26th June.

The player and his agent Phil McTaggart have been in talks with Barry Kilby since we agreed a deal with Rangers to take Gow as part of the Lafferty deal. McTaggart has spoken of it being a good opportunity for his client but at this time there has been no commitment to join us.

It appears that the problem could be at the Rangers end with Gow seeking a payment from the club, but whatever the reason he now has just one week to decide, after which the Clarets will withdraw their interest in him and move in for other targets.

Should the deal not happen then we'll receive a further payment from Rangers for Kyle Lafferty.
