There has been considerable speculation in recent weeks that a bid of £250,000 will trigger a sell on clause for the Latvian international and that has brought about interest from a number of clubs including the Clarets.
Local rivals Preston have shown an interest but it is believed they are outsiders. Crystal Palace, Norwich and Watford have also supposedly shown interest has have SPL club Rangers.
The player himself has brushed off all the speculation and said: "From my point of view it is just a case of carrying on and seeing what happens, that's all I can really do."
