During last year’s event a Blackpool paper revealed that neither Blackpool nor Burnley would be invited again because their respective managers, Steve McMahon and Stan Ternent, had failed to attend a dinner during the week.
And after four years we won’t be there this year. The club were informed that we were not one of the selected clubs, yes believe it or not we did try and get there again, but were being placed on a reserve list.
Fears grew when one of the selected clubs dropped out that we would win a place but thankfully not and today it was all confirmed that we would not be going.
There is no news as yet of any alternative – but we can all relax that finally there will be a change with some other club going in our place.
