Goal of the Season - it is your choice

Ade Akinbiyi - last season's winner
We've selected the best fourteen goals to choose from. They include all the monthly winners during the season along with all those that proved most popular in those monthly polls. It starts and ends with two strikes from outside the box, the second for Steve Jones in that opening day win, and Wade Elliott's stunner at the Stadium of Light in front of the television cameras.

The twelve in between include the all important winner from Andy Gray against Preston, one of three goals from our leading scorer in the poll, Gifton's second in his hat trick against Barnsley and that all important winner from John Spicer at Birmingham.

There's Paul McVeigh's goal against Cardiff that rounded off probably the best team goal of the season, Ade's in the cup at Reading, two from Kyle, both of Alan Mahon's goals, along with Jon Harley's against Barnsley.

The poll, which is down the right hand column on the front page, will run until the end of Saturday. Last season's winner was Ade for his second at Luton, but who will take the award this year?
