Glen strikes the right chime

Glen Little
It brings to an end four years at the Madejski during which he won a promotion to the top flight and had one good season there. Sadly for Glen he lost virtually all the 2007/08 season to an achilles injury that looked at one stage to be career threatening.

There's no doubt that 'Arry has got himself a triffic player to play on the right hand side and the move comes despite Reading boss Steve Coppell keen to keep hold of him.

Now 32, it is over ten years since he first arrived at Turf Moor and for much of that time was the crowd favourite. We loaned him out a couple of times to save some money but made the biggest mistake of all in allowing him to run his contract down and walk out on a free transfer.

Burnley fans have continued to take an interest in him and I think we were all delighted when he started playing again last season. He'll get a shock next season though, after playing his football in the quite library style atmosphere of the Madejski he'll find things a bit different at Fratton Park.
