Glen speculation is sending him just about everywhere

Needless to say the name of Sunderland has been included but our North East sources suggest there would be no interest now from Peter Reid who is set to sign three or four new players this week with Glen not on the list.

It is known that Burnley turned down £3 million for him during last season and many thought it was Sunderland but more reliable information is pointing just down the M66 to KKMC. They were linked with him last season and I am told were the club to make an offer.

Aston Villa have definitely been in the running this summer although that has just been press speculation. Whether Graham Taylor, an admirer of Glen, is set to make an offer for him is unclear. Certainly Villa do need to strengthen or they could be facing a struggle this season.

Any suggestion of Preston is just a nonsense, when they were casting their eyes over here it was for a defender and it is believed they made an enquiry regarding Arthur’s availability, maybe we can loan him to them for a couple of weeks after the Wolves game. In the end though they signed Marlon Broomes as we all know.

And now there is Portsmouth. Harry Redknapp has been linked with moves for Gascoigne and Wise in the last couple of days and it does look as though he is trying to break all records as far as signing players is concerned. He has done nothing else since taking over from Rix at Fratton Park.

Whether there is anything in that we don’t know but suggestions that Redknapp is looking to sign Dean West are I am told very much wide of the mark so maybe he does want Glen.

Many on Saturday thought Glen was playing his last game for the Clarets and only time will tell, another four days to be precise. But if he goes I just wonder where he will go and is there a club willing to match our valuation?
