Glen misses out on Premiership debut

Since our return to Division One it seems that we have had the unhappy knack of picking up serious injuries against the Canaries, especially if any of our players got close to Darren Kenton.

Lee Briscoe got the worst injury of his Burnley career in a home game against Norwich whilst a foul by Kenton last season brought a premature end to his last Burnley game. Alan Moore ended up having a groin operation after turning it on against them for 45 minutes two years ago in a game we undeservedly lost 2-1.

In the same game a foul on Glen tore his hamstring, the second time in under a year that he had been forced off with them with the same injury and later in the same season Kenton’s boot attached itself to his head and saw him off to hospital.

With Kenton now a non-playing Southampton player and Glen on loan at Bolton we thought everyone was safe from the curse but sadly it still struck and news reached us that Glen has picked up a groin injury that not only prevented him from making his Premiership debut but could mean he is out for the remainder of his loan spell.

Bolton could now decided to send him back and that could mean Facey and Farrelly returning to the Reebok. That would be devastating news for Glen who was looking forward to playing in the Premiership and hoping to impress enough for Bolton to maybe take him on a permanent basis.

Glen said, "It's a real choker and I have never had this kind of injury before. I can only hope that Sam Allardyce will give me another chance if necessary."

We can only hope that his chance of playing in the Premiership hasn’t completely disappeared with this injury and that he still gets his chance to play on the biggest stage in English football.
