Geordies watching two Clarets

Charlie Woods - watching Glen and Chappy
Richard Chaplow has been linked with the north east club for some weeks now and according to Alan Oliver of the Newcastle Evening Chronicle Woods was there to take a look at both him and Glen Little.

Now Glen has been linked with half the clubs in the country at one time or other and for about three years it seemed as though he was heading north east but to join Peter Reid at Sunderland.

But it is Newcastle this time although Oliver makes no comment on whether they are likely to pursue either of the players.

Woods is hardly likely to have been impressed in any case last Saturday with neither of the two players on form and Chappy in particular having his worst game for some time, perhaps he doesn’t like the idea of playing football in a black and white striped shirt.

We should though take Alan Oliver very seriously indeed, our Newcastle sources tell us he rarely gets anything wrong and once it is in the Chronicle it is likely to happen.

Only last summer he predicted that Newcastle would sign Ronaldinho, Stephen Carr, Brett Emerton and Alan Smith before the start of the current season.
